Sunderlands train station is approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk from the ground. It has excellent links to the British Rail network and Metro system, ensuring quick and easy travel to other areas in the region. Seaburn train station is also located close by.
When travelling to the match by Metro, supporters have the choice of arriving at either St. Peters or the Stadium of Light Metro stations prior to the game.
When leaving the stadium after the game, supporters travelling towards South Hylton must board at St. Peters Metro Station. Supporters travelling towards Newcastle must board at the Stadium of Light station.
These restrictions are a necessary measure to ease crowd congestion and assist with speedy and efficient return journey for all fans.
Easily accessible by public transport, bus numbers 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 15 and 16 all stop within a few minutes walk of the Stadium of Light.
All main bus routes across Wearside connect to the Citys central bus station, Park Lane Interchange, which is also within easy walking distance of the stadium.
